The Monarch amp in convenient combo form with Tall Bird-style reverb.
The Monarch Reverb features a unique British-American switch, simple yet highly versatile controls, and perfect range of power to be used both cleanly and pushed on the stage and studio without wearing out its welcome, and incorporates tube driven spring reverb in a completely transparent no-compromises fashion into the classic Monarch circuitry.
The circuit design is 100% original, or actually maybe just a combination of 30 different amps Chris likes plus a few ideas of his own. Either way, the resulting amplifier could be, and often is, the end of your search for perfect guitar tone.
The Monarch was designed to make you consider ditching your drive pedals (though it takes pedals like a winner). It was designed to have harmonics when clean, and clarity when it’s pushed. It is designed to transition from clean to compressed to distortion with a complete lack of harsh harmonics or weird resonances. The cabinet is open backed and pine to project sound in all directions like an acoustic guitar…a true tone wood that lends it’s own musicality to the guitar’s sound. The build and finish quality is second to none.
We get asked constantly "What is the Monarch based on?". Translation: "Which 60s/70s amplifier did you clone and tweak when you developed your product?". It's a fair question...most builders do this, and that is fine. We did something new, so there isn't a simple answer. However, we can tell you where the Monarch falls in terms of sound and feel compared to existing amplifiers.
The Monarch was designed to fulfill the needs of players who:
Enjoy a Tweed Deluxe but find it could be lacking in punch and versatility
Enjoy a Top Boost AC15 or 30 but find the upper frequencies a little quacky and grating
Enjoy a Supro Thunderbolt but want more clarity and better harmonics
Think some boutique amps they have tried are too bright and/or lacking a certain something…what is it called…tone that satisfies.

Serious sound that exceeds its appearance Nutube is the new vacuum tube developed in a collaboration between KORG and Noritake Itron. This dream device uses vacuum fluorescent display technology to obtain the same vacuum tube sound and response, while eliminating the problematic aspects of a vacuum tube, and has begun being used by VOX as well as other musical instrument manufacturers. The Nutube is used in the VOX MINI SUPERBEETLE, faithfully reproducing the tonal character of VOX’s legendary AC30. The sparkling, chimey sound that has captivated guitarists for more than fifty years is alive and well in this new amplifier. Additionally, the traditional VOX tremolo effect has also been included. The amplitude of the tremolo also changes the depth of Nutube distortion, varying the sound, resulting a true tube driven tremolo effect. Also provided is a digital reverb that simulates a classic spring reverb, dramatically improving the potential for shaping your sound. An extension speaker cabinet can also be added to this package for more volume when you need it. The MINI SUPERBEETLE is not merely a reproduction of the classic stack; it is a true re-imagination of the amp that has been updated to meet the needs of today’s players.
An amp designed for fans of British Rock heritage; play it, and also enjoy it as décor VOX boasts a sophisticated sense of design that is unmatched by any other guitar amp manufacturer. From a historical point of view, there is no other guitar amp that resonates so strongly with music aficionados in both looks and sound. Throughout VOX’s history, the AC100 stack set, wrapped in its chrome frame stand, stands out as one of the amps that exemplifies VOX and its lasting impact on pop culture during the height of the British Invasion. The VOX MINI SUPERBEETLE emanates the spirit of that shining history, and is the rare amp that you’ll enjoy not only while playing it, but also as décor. It’s a privilege that's backed by more than sixty years of VOX history.

100-watts, three-modes, plus Preamp Focus boost for rock,
metal, extended-range and progressive players
VX100 The Super Kraken is evolved from the award winning Compact Series VX The Kraken, developed with Rabea Massaad
The Kraken has morphed into an even more powerful beast via 100 massive watts of 6L6 power. You still get the Brit-inspired Gain I channel. You still get the colossal smack of Gain II’s US grind… but now there’s a whole new footswitchable clean mode, plus a footswitchable Preamp Focus function to add a little juice and cut to any and all modes. There’s also a preset Bass Focus option in the power section, footswitchable FX loop, assignable/ footswitchable dual master volumes… plus a useful 30-watt low-power mode for when you don’t need to blow the roof off. And, of course, MIDI switching capability.
Gain I Crunch… and Clean!
VX100’s clean mode is entirely new, allowing sparkling clean tones with superb headroom. Footswitch to crunch mode, and you're rocking hot-rodded British gain tones. Switch in the Preamp Focus to boost, tighten and punch through.
The Gain II channel picks up from where Gain I leaves off. There's extra overdrive as you'd expect, but also a tighter bottom-end response and a more focussed midrange character, for a more American flavour in your riffs. Yes, it Djents if you want.
This preset footswitchable boost adds a little gain while also tightening up the bottom end and pushing mids. It's akin to what a clean-sounding TS-type pedal would do. It works in all three modes: Clean, Gain I and Gain II.
Power Amp Bass Focus
This preset footswitchable function affects the negative feedback in the power section. One setting delivers looser bass response with plenty of vintage-style resonance. The other setting is tighter and more focussed in the bottom end.
Dual Master Volumes
You can configure these to change with the channels (Gain I/Master I and Gain II/Master II) or have them independently footswitchable for two separate master volume levels whenever you want.
Low Power Mode
Select between 30 watts low power or 100 watts high power. Both are plenty loud, but the feel and dynamics are different.
There are six footswitchable functions in VX100: Gain I/GainII, Clean/Crunch modes, Preamp Focus, Power Amp Focus, Master Volumes and the FX Loop… Two dual-button foot switches come with the amp as standard – see below.
All six of the functions mentioned left are MIDI switchable with a compatible MIDI controller. That means you can pre-program multiple function changes to happen at once… along with all your other MIDI compatible devices, should you so desire.
