ZVEX Effects proudly introduces the newest member to our line, the ’59 Sound. It’s based on the legendary 1959 Tweed Fender Bassman. The ’59 Sound captures the essence of that magical amplifier.
I've never really liked the sound of distorted Fender amps (this is Zack pontificating) except for my earliest amp, a blonde Fender Bassman with a 2X12 cab that just rip roared pure tinnitus joy. But there is one Fender that blows that one completely away, and that's a '59 Bassman. I guess the way it affected Jim Marshall was similar, back in the 60s, because he used it as the template for the first Marshall amps. So it's not out of the realm of possibility to imagine that the ZVEX Box of Rock, which accurately models the Marshall JTM45 amps, could be modded to sound like a '59 Bassman. Tommy Rehbein, our customer service specialist, tackled this particular concept and listened closely to a '59 Bassman for a few days and tweaked components in our BOR until he got that magical '59 Sound worked out. Check out the video and see if this is a sound you've been searching for. It's pretty amazing, especially when you use your guitar's volume control to explore it's wide range of textures.

This Box of Rock™ simulates Zachary’s favorite amp turned up all the way, a 1966 Marshall® JTM45. The tone control adjusts brightness and there’s a high-headroom low-noise boost.

This pedal was originally designed for J.Mascis. He requested two Box of Rock™ pedals in one box with two stomp switches. He uses it regularly now, but we did one (or two) better with the one we’re releasing to the public... we made it so you can adjust the sub frequencies (like the Distortron), and you can convert either channel to a Super Hard-On™. In this way, you can configure the pedal to be two Distortrons cascaded, two Super Hard-Ons cascaded (like a Super Duper 2-in-1), or a Box of Rock with boost, or a Super Hard-On going into a Box of Rock. Distortion/boost heaven!

The Fuzzolo is a raging beast of a fuzz. We managed to squeeze this wild thing into a small box to save real estate on pedal boards, and because we could. The Fuzzolo has two controls: Volume (post gain), and Pulse Width. The Fuzzolo is equally devastating on guitar and bass.

This pedal was designed to emulate the sounds and textures of the Lo-Fi Loop Junky™ in real time, but it goes far beyond that. Click it on and mix your sparkly clear compressed signal with the smashed, lo-fidelity warbled signal and listen to it become a luscious emulsification that can be blended to the most perfect depth. Achieve new haunting chorus sounds and pulsating vibrato. Unusual and fun, you’ve never heard anything quite like it.

The Silicon Fuzz Factory contains carefully selected silicon transistors that preserve the classic texture of the original germanium Fuzz Factory while providing temperature stabilization. This means that it can be used in very hot situations such as sunny outdoor stages and under hot lights where germanium fuzzes can change texture as their gain climbs wildly.
Packed with knobs that let you control everything from tight, radically fuzzy sounds that gate off instantly when you stop playing, to intermodulating oscillations that fight for control of your guitar as your notes decay, to shortwave radio sounds, ripping velcro and octave-like fuzz.

The Sonar™ is a “tremolo” pedal, but this one’s different. This unit has the ability to chop up any signal you send into or out of it. Unlike most other tremolos, it can cut down your high gain signal to silence. It can also sound gorgeously transparent like a traditional tremolo. It does other fun stuff like increase or decrease tempo, duty cycle (amount of time the trem is ON in a given cycle), or both simultaneously on the fly. It also has tap tempo and a slew of advanced features (attack, release, and depth controls). Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, it has aZVEX Machine™ circuit built right into the box.

ZVEX Effects proudly announces the release of the TB-2 handmade microphone, designed for special effects through a guitar amplifier and guitar accessories. What makes the TB-2 different from other microphones? Most professional microphones are designed to connect to a mixing console, so they have balanced outputs terminating in an XLR connector. Their outputs are very low level as well as being low-impedance, which makes them incompatible with guitar gear in three ways, with the additional problem of having terrifying feedback problems when placed in front of a raging guitar amplifier.
The TB-2 has the following features that define its specialty nature:
1. Its output is high-impedance like a guitar.
2. Its output connector is 1/4" and is designed to connect directly to effects or an amp.
3. It features extremely high rejection of signals located more than 1 inch away, so it literally cannot hear your amplifier if it's more than a few feet away from it, so it doesn't feed back on stage!
4. It's hand made from an actual tea ball, with a removable magnetic pop screen and filter, with a hand-bent copper hoop and springs that make it look like something from the 20s.
5. IT HAS A WAH-WAH BUILT IN! This lets you set a filtered tone for telephone effects or honking tones to exaggerate instruments like harmonica, or you can actively wah your own voice!
6. The TB-2 is limited to a run of less than 100 pieces, and if you miss out on this one, you'll have to wait until 2019 for our next microphone offering!

A few years ago ZVEX Effects released the Candela Vibrophase™, a candle-powered vibrato/phaser machined from solid brass and glass that used a mix of 1800s technology (a Sterling heat engine) and 60s/70s audio circuitry to create a lovely swirling effect. We received numerous requests to put that sound into a guitar pedal and after a bunch of research we came up with a way of dramatically broadening the spectrum of textures available using the original circuitry from the Candela. It's presented to you here as the Vibrophase™, a five-knob four-stage phaser that creates phase and vibrato nuances never heard before. Five knobs! Count 'em! Speed sweeps from maddeningly slow to puppy dog flippy, vibrato/phase sweeps from, erm, you'll figure that out, feedback sends the output back through the phaser again to raise intensity, and there are controls for the top end and bottom end of the sweep so you can completely tailor the sound to your song. I think you're really going to enjoy this. It's just really pretty. -ZV
