Description
Pre-owned Fender Telecaster from 1952! A special find, and players grade vintage. Still plenty of years left in this guitar. This one was played by one owner for many years and loved dearly. It has had some modifications to keep it going through the years.
Condition: The refinish was done decades ago and a fair job, done over the entire guitar. The frets are original and low but still playable. Plenty of wear on the body, indents, dings, buckle rash.
History and tone all in one. This is an obvious player that has been in a family since day one. Plenty of fine details to go over but a '52 Tadeo Gomez neck and original body and neck make this one a rare find.
The neck pocket date showsa hard to read 3-19-52 and has a "D" stamp. The original blonde finish is difficult to see but still noticeable in some of the grain. Neck date is TG-44-52 with "D" Stamp.
Original parts to the guitar: frets, bridge plate, control plate, pickups, strap buttons, neck + body, pickup switch, some of the wiring, pickup leads, neck pickup mounting screws are original flat head screws, string tree.
Non-original parts: some of the wiring is not original, control plate screws, pickgaurd screws non original and also cut shorter to fit, replacement bone nut, pickguard is old bakelight but does not appear original, capacitor, centra lab replacement pots and knobs have been replaced in the 70's (pot code: 1347023 = 1970), these Fender/Grover tuners are not correct for this guitar but work well, no Fender decal left on the neck, non original hardshell case. Bridge ashtray cover is not included.
Fine notes: The ferrules appear hand-drilled and slightly off center from eachother, 2 piece body (seam is off center), refinish on front/back of neck and guitar body, some original color (blonde) hard to see but visible in some of the cavities/grain, back of the body has the 2 dowels visible from the pin router, bridge pickup non-plated flat pole is pulling apart a little and has the original steel plate. 2 of the 3 nail holes from finishing are still visible under the refinish. Some buffing/sanding marks visible in the finish in small areas. The Tadeo Gomez date code is in red ink. The bridge pickup has some output but needs to be rewound. Neck pickup sounds beautiful.
